Write a summary for each of the chapters and include plot summaries, characters, and important events.

13. Huck and Jim loose their raft and are so trapped on the steamboat. Later, Huck meets the captain of the steamboat and lies to him that his family is trapped there so he should go look, but he actually just wanted him to find the robbers.
14. Jim and Huck are arguing about a couple of things and then reader soon learns that there is no good in arguing with Jim.
15. Huck has difficulty with the fog, the raft and the canoe. When Jim wakes up, he exactly knows what happened so Huck tries to trick him and tells Jim that it was just a dream. But Jim is smart and figures out that it wasn't a dream, it was reality, so he gets mad at Huck for trying to fool him. At the end of the Chapter, Huck eventually apologizes to Jim.
16. Two slave hunters almost find Jim, but Huck is able to trick them again by telling them his dad is on the raft and has small pox. Later a steamboat crashes into the raft and Jim and Huck reach Cairo.

Ch. 13 Jim and Huck lose their raft, but run across a wrecked boat and steal the robbers raft that they have. Then huck gets stopped by some men and tells them that he has some family back on the boat
Ch. 14 Huck and Jim start discussing King Soloman and the many wives he had, and Jim talks about how he would kill a child and have no regret about it bc he has so many.
Ch. 15 During the night Jim and Huck become separated by the fog and finally huck finds him on an island and tells him it was all a dream but then later feels terrible about the way he told him and says if he knew how it would make him feel then he never would have said or told him that.
Ch. 16 Huck in this chapter starts to regret ever helping Jim have freedom - he starts thinking about it a lot more after he tells jim to separate from him so they can find Cairo. Then he runs into some men and that about telling them that he had the runaway slave but tricks them by saying oh yeah you can come aboard but i warn you my father has smallpox. (jenna pelletier)

Ch. 13- Huck and Jim finds themselves trapped on a steamboat after the loss of their raft. To quickly escape, they stole the boat from the robbers aboard the steamboat. The stolen boat has all the robbers loot and belongings on it. Huck approaches a watchman and told him a lie of his family being left behind on the steamboat.
Ch. 14- Huck and Jim find entertainment through reading the books from the robbers loot. They get into a deep discuission on King Solomon and express their opinions to as if they thought him wise or not. Jim and Huck find themselves in disagreement.
Ch. 15- During the night, a fog forms on the river causing Huck and Jim to lose each other. They traded continous "whoops" in hope of finding each other. Huck finds Jim on the island and allows him to believe that he was never missing and Jim was dreaming. From this, Huck deeply hurts Jim by lying and attempting to make a fool of him.
Ch. 16- Huck and Him remain in constant search of Cairo as they continue to travel down the river. Huck tells Jim that he should travel ahead. Once he goes ahead of Jim he begins to regret helping Jim to freedom, and begins to feel as though he is doing the widow a disservice by not returning Jim. Just before he reaches shore, two men approach in a boat and question Huck as to who he was traveling with. He lied and said he was traveling with his white father and tells him of his sickness. The two men are cautious and offer Huck $20 instead of going to the boat to help his father. Huck and Jim lose their raft at the end of the chapter to a steamboat and become immediately separated. Ch. 13- Jim and Huck lost their raft while on the wrecked steamboat. Jim and Huck steal the robbers boat and go to shore for help. While on shore, Huck runs across a watchman and Huck lies to him about his family being on the wrecked steamboat.
Ch. 14- Huck begins reading to Jim from some of the books that he had got from the robbers. Huck and Jim get into argument over King Soloman. Huck had been taught that King Soloman was wise and he couldn't see it any other way.
Ch. 15- While crossed the Ohio River, a dark fog settles in and Jim and Huck lose each other in the fog. Finally Huck finds Jim. When he gets to the raft he pretends that he was never gone. When Jim realizes that Huck was playing a trick on him, Jim gets upset and begins telling Huck about what a true friend is.
Ch. 16- On the way to Cairo, Huck begins to regret helping Jim get free when Jim begins talking about getting to a free state. When they thought that they had passed Cairo, Huck starts paddling for shore to ask where they are. Before he reaching the shore, he was stopped by two men who asked him if he was traveling with a white or a black. Huck lies and says he is traveling with is white father who has smallpox. As soon as the men heard that Huck's father had smallpox they left quickly and gave him $20. But at the end of the chapter bad luck strikes again and a steamboat runs over their raft and smashes it all to pieces. (Taylor Keene)

Ch. 13- Huck and Jim are stuck on a steam boat after their raft gets lost. To get to shore for help they steal the robber's boat which contains all of the robbers loot.
Ch. 14- Jim and Huck argue over the story of King Soloman. Jim is teasing Huck the entire time but Huck can't accept anything besides what he was taught.
Ch.15- After getting lost in the fog, Huck plays a trick on Jim, trying to convince Jim that he was never gone.
Ch. 16- Slave hunters approach Huck and Jim's boat, because Huck regrets helping Jim escape he almost tells them Jim is on the raft but quickly tricks them into thinking his father is on the raft with small pox. (Rachel H.)


ch 13- Jim and Huck are "stranded" on a steamboat when they lose their raft. They steal the robbers boat, which contains all their loot, and go to shore to get help from someone to go after the steamboat.
ch 14- Huck and Jim discuss King Solomon and whether or not he was wise. Huck believes he is wise according to the widow, while Jim dosen't think so since he would be willing to split his kid.
ch 15- Jim and Huck lose each other in the fog. Huck plays it off like he was sleeping, trying to trick Jim. Jim was really worried about Huck and when he discovers it was a trick he explains what a true friend is to Huck.
ch 16- Bad luck plagues Huck and Jim. First they are stopped by two men who were looking for run away slaves. After escaping that their raft is run over by a steamboat leaving them stranded. Further more, Huck is starting to feel guilty about helping Jim escape, but can't come clean to someone because he would feel guilty for what he did to Jim. (alex j)

Chapter 13- Huck and Jim find themselves stranded on the wrecked "Walter Scot" after Huck tries to trick the robbers. Huck and Jim do however get the "truck" which contains the robbers loot. The boys manage to get away and Huck is over come with guilt. He runs into a sleeping "watchman" and tell of his missing "family" on the "Walter Scot". (He is actually talking about the robbers)
Chapter 14- Huck and Jim discover the loot that was in the truck, which consisted or boots, blankets, clothes, books, and "seegars." They read stories from the book and debate about how wise King Solomon was. Jim thinks that King Solomon's decision to spilt a baby was formed in his up-bringing.
Chapter 15- Jim and Huck become separated when the canoe detaches from the raft. The fog makes finding each other practically impossible. Huck decides to to take a short nap but wakes to find he has been asleep for hours. He manages to find Jim and convince him that Jim was dreaming. When the truth is revealed Jim tells Huck he is a horrible friend. Huck feels guilty and ends up apologizing.
Chapter 16- Huck and Jim feel they are getting close to Cairo so they run ashore to see where they are. Two men ask Huck if he iis with a white or black man. Of course Huck dreams up another lie and explains that his dad has smallpox. The men feel bad that they are going to leave Huck (they don't want small pox) so they give him $20 a piece. (Shelby K)


Chapter 13:Jim and Huck are “stranded” on the robber’s boat because their raft floated away. The robbers on the steamboat went in the cabin for a short period of time. While the robbers were in the cabin, Jim and Huck cut the robber’s boat from the side and stole some stuff they thought they needed. This leaves the robbers stranded and gives Jim and Huck time to escape. They float on their raft down the river for a good while until they finally reach a nearby village.Chapter 14:The next day Huck and Jim wake up and reminiscence about their escape from the robbers. They then go through all the stuff they had stolen when they escaped. In this chapter, Jim and Huck spend most of the chapter just hanging out with each other and talking. Huck reads to Jim and Jim comments on the stories Huck reads. They read a story about King Soloman being a wise king and strongly Jim disagrees. He says there is no way that he could be considered wise because he wanted to chop a child in half to share it and he had multiple wives. Jim doesn’t understand the point of having half of a child. Chapter 15:The objective in this chapter is to try to reach Cairo. Huck boards a canoe to try to find the missing raft but he can’t seem to find it anywhere. The sky was very foggy the whole journey and it was very hard for Huck to see where he was going. During this adventure Huck kept on hearing “whoops” from the other side of the island. It was a very long and adventurous day for Huck, so he takes a “cat- nap” in his canoe. This “cat-nap” turns in to a long sleep. When Huck wakes up, he sees Jim on the raft. Huck tries to convince Jim that he has been on the raft the whole time. Jim believes Huck until he sees leaves dirt all over the raft. Jim basically tells Huck that it’s very disrespectful to lie to a friend. Huck eventually apologizes to Jim later on.Chapter 16:Huck and Jim are still on a journey to reach the free land of Cario. Jim is so excited about reaching there because he will be free! However, Huck is feeling guilty about not ever turning him in to the townspeople. Huck thinks that he should tell on Jim but then Jim tells Huck how fortunate he is to have a friend like him. So, now Huck is in a terrible positon. While Huck is paddling to the light he sees in the distance some mysterious men. These men tell Huck that they are looking for runaway blacks and they ask Huck if the man on his boat is black or white. Huck says that the man on the boat is his white father and he is very ill with small pox. Since small pox is so contagious, the men feel sorry for Huck and give him $40 dollars and directions to the town. At the end of the chapter there is a boat that is headed towards their raft this boat hits the raft and Huck wonders where Jim is.(Laura)


Ch.13- Jim and Huck lose their raft and look for the robbers' skiff along the crashed ferryboat and as the robbers were about to leave, they remembered that their partner still had some of the money and they went back to retrieve it and while they were gone, Huck and Jim take to skiff and find their raft. Then Huck feels bad for leaving the robbers for dead and tells the watchmen that his family ran into the sinking boat.
Ch.14- Jim and Huck are relaxing and talking and Jim begins to talk about kings and Huck mentions King Solomon and Jim starts telling him that Solomon was one of the most foolish men who ever lived. Then Huck makes a comment about frenchmen not speaking the same language and Jim can't understand why we all don't speak the same language because we are all the same species.
Ch.15-They cross the Ohio River where it merges with the Mississippi then a dense fog arrives and Huck and Jim get separated and Huck wakes up and finds Jim asleep and wakes him up and Jim was so happy to see him because he thought he was dead but Huck told Jim it was all a dream, Jim got upset and finally Huck apologizes.
Ch.16-Jim is all excited agbout reaching Cairo and keeps talking about being free. Then Huck makes the decision to turn Jim in the next town they reach but when some white men were looking for runaway slaves asked who else was on the raft and Huck tells them it is his father and sister and the white men think they have small pox and send a twenty dollar coin on a log as long as they don't land near their town. Then a steamboat plows through their raft and Huck and Jim are once again separated while Huck reaches the shore, Jim is not in sight. (Elizabeth)

Chapters 13, 14, 15, 16
Ch. 13- Jim and Huck lose their raft and become stranded on a sinking steamboat. Huck then sees the robbers' boat; he and Jim steal it and then go for help. Huck finds another steamboat and lies to the watchman telling him that his family is on the wrecked steamboat and he will be paid if he helps them.
Ch. 14- Huck and Jim begin discussing King Soloman. Huck maintains that he was wise as that is what the widow always taught him but Jim could see no other way and did not think he could be wise because he was going to cut the child in half.
Ch. 15- Huck and Jim become separated in a fog. After searching for one another all night, Huck finally finds Jim. He tells Jim that there was no fog and tries to convince him that he was only dreaming. Jim quickly realizes that Huck is playing a cruel trick on him and tries to explain to him what a true friend is and how friends should treat each other.
Ch. 16- Huck and Jim think they should have reached Cairo by now and they decide to stop at the next town to check. Huck realizes that as soon as they reach the city Jim will be free and wonders if he should report him as a runaway slave. Huck meets two men in another boat and tells them that his father is ill with small pox, they feel sorry for him and give him $40. Huck and Jim are nearly killed by a steamboat. Huck comes ashore and is taken in by the Grangerfords. (Niki H)


Ch. 13- Jim and Huck barely got the robbers’ boat, but managed in the end to get it. Jim began to feel some resentment towards his actions, because he wondered if he one day might be in their position. He goes on shore to get help, and runs into a watchman, whom he tells about “his family” (aka the robbers) that is stranded on the wreck. (Trying to help out the robbers)
Ch 14- Jim and Huck, after settling, search through the robber’s possessions, and begin to read about King Solomon and the Dauphin. Jim considers the stuff nonsense.
Ch15- Jim and Huck crossed the Ohio River, and are separated, and because of fog, cant get back to one another. Once Huck catches up with Jim, Jim is delighted to see him. But Huck tricks him into believing that he dreamed the whole thing. Jim was Very upset about this.
Ch 16- Very eager to reach Cairo, Jim talks about being free and his plans before and after he is. Eventually, the two think they’ve passed Cairo, so they pulled aside and Huck went along to check. He came across two men that asked who was on the raft with him. He told them it was his family, and that they had smallpox. The men went away. Later on the raft, a steamboat came plowing through and split the raft. Jim went one way, but Huck got to shore, and was surrounded by dogs. (Caroline Vaughan)

Ch. 13- Jim and Huck's raft floats away and they barely manage to get off the steamboat by stealing the robbers boat. Jim hates the situation that they are in and feels bad about what they did, but in the same time is glad that they were able to get off the steamboat in time. Huck goes to shore and tells a watchman that he has family on a sinking steamboat, so the robbers may still live.
CH. 14- Jim and Huck find valuables that the robbers had stolen on the skiff. They get in a debate about king Solomon and Huck tries to explain to Jim the idea of different languages which Jim doesnt understand at all.
Ch.15- Huck and Jim cross the Ohio river and are separated in the fog as Huck tries to tie off the raft in the canoe. Huck falls asleep in the canoe and eventually floats along down the river and finds Jim sleeping in the middle of the night. Huck then tries to convince Jim that he had dreamed the whole incident and Huck had been there the whole time.
Ch 16- Huck and Jim make for the town of Cairo so they can get into the free states where Jim can do as he pleases. Eventually they realize that they may have passed Cairo in the thick fog, so Huck runs to shore to check. He meets two men who are going on an escaped slave hunt. They ask him if he's alone and he says that his family is on the raft with small pox. The men left after giving Huck 40 dollars. Later on the raft gets plowed through by a steamboat and Huck and Jim are once again separated. Huck reaches shore and is soon surrounded by dogs. (William)

CH 13: Huck and Jim realize their raft floated away from the wreck so they are stuck on the wreck with the gang. They snake Bill and Packard's raft from them and sail off to find their raft. A while down the river they find it, and Huck leaves Jim on it to go find someone to tell about the gang. On shore, he came upon the watchman of the boat and came up with a story to lead him to the wreck. He brings up "uncle Hornback", knowing he would want the gang captured. After relaying his story and sending the guard off to the wreck, he goes back to Jim on their raft.
CH 14: They wake up and find valuable things the gang had stored on their raft. Huck tells Jim stories about kings and they talk about King Solomon and cutting the baby in half. Huck also tries to explain French to Jim, who doesn't understand why men speak different languages.
CH 15: Huck and Jim are on the river, Jim on the raft and Huck on the canoe, when a great fog comes down. They get seperated from each other looking for a towhead. They whoop for each other, but Huck gives up and falls asleep. When he wakes up, he finds Jim because the fog has lifted. Huck tries to trick Jim into thinking it was all a dream and after he convinces him, Jim figures out it was all a trick and gets really mad.
CH 16: They float on down the river, keeping an eye out for Cairo, where Jim will be free. Huck starts feeling guilty about helping a slave run away when he should have turned him in. Huck gets in the canoe to see if they've reached Cairo and comes upon 2 other men in a boat. They are looking for 5 runaway slaves. Huck came up with a story to keep them from finding Jim. He makes them think his father is ashore with smallpox. They give him $40 and leave him. Huck rejoins Jim on the raft and they continue looking for Cairo. Finally they come to think they passed it in the fog that night. A steamboat came along and crushed their raft, which they believe to be more bad snakeskin luck. (Amy A.)

Chapter 13: Huck and Jim realize that their raft floated away from the wreck so they are stuck on the boat with the robbers. Huck and Jim end up stealing the robber's raft and float down the river. They later talk to a steamboat captain and tell him a lie to make them try and go catch the robbers left on the steamboat. Then they find their own raft and sink the robber's raft and continue their journey down the river.Chapter 14: When they wake up they find some valuable items that the gang had on their raft. They talk about the king Solomon story and Huck tries to explain French to Jim, but Jim doesn't understand why they talk differently.Chapter 15: There is a lot of fog in the air. And both of the boys are on the river, Jim on the raft and Huck on the canoe. They get separated from each-other. They try and scream and yell each others names to find one another but Huck gives up and falls asleep. When Huck wakes up he finds Jim because the fog has lifted. Huck tries to tell Jim it's a dream and for a second there Jim believes him. But then Jim realizes that it wasn't a dream and gets furious.Chapter 16: They both float down the river. Keeping an eye on the Cairo, because as soon as they reach the city, Jim will be set free. Huck tends to feel guilty about helping a slave escape. A lot of people approach Huck and ask if they have seen any run away slaves, but Huck defends Jim by telling them that Pap is on the boat and has small pox. The men stay away from the boat and give Huck $40 before continuing their search. The boys think that they passed Cairo at night. They try to paddle back upstream but their raft gets hit and crushed by a steamboat. And Huck and Jim are separated once again.(Haley)

Chapter 13: Huck and Jim's raft detaches itself from the wrecked steamboat and floats down the river, leaving them stranded on the boat with the three men. They steal the robber's raft (and some of their loot) and float down the river. They later speak to a steamboat captain, to whom they tell a false story so that he will save the men left on the steamboat. They later find their own raft and sink the robber's and continue down the river.
Chapter 14: Huck and Jim are riding on their raft, and Huck attempts to teach Jim about King Solomon and his wisdom. They both dont want to talk about him anymore and instead talk about different world languages, such as French.
Chapter 15: Huck and Jim are separated in a thick fog, and after attempting to call out for Jim, Huck falls asleep. After the fog lifts he finds the raft (and Jim) and attempts to trick Jim into thinking the entire thing was just a dream. Jim believes him at first, but later realizes the trick and becomes furious with Huck. Huck later attempts to apologize and asks Jim for forgiveness.
Chapter 16: Both Huck and Jim keep an eye out for Cairo, because as soon as they rach the city, Jim will be free. He feels guilty about helping a slave escape from its master. Huck meets several men who are looking for some runaway slaves, but defends Jim by telling the men that Pap is on the boat with the smallpox. The men stay away from the boat and give Huck $40 before continuing their search. Huck and Jim think that they have passed Cairo in the night, and try to paddle upstream. Their raft is later hit and crushed by a steamboat, and Huck and Jim are separated. (((Parker)))

13. Huck and Jim are stuck on the raft with the gang because their raft floated away. Yet, their luck shows up and the gang leaves their raft for a second and during this time, Huck and Jim board it and ride away. They float downriver and get to a double-hull ferry boat. Huck speaks to the guard and explains that his family is on the wreck and couldn't swim away. The people head up to the old steamboat to save the people. They caught their own raft and sunk the gang's. Then they go to sleep
14. Huck reads books to Jim and they discuss kings and other things. They get into a big discussion about King Solomon and how wise he was. They end up agreeing not to talk about him anymore. Then they get into an argument about world languages and why they speak differently.
15. Huck gets separated from Jim at night in a foggy, big storm and has to fight his way through the fog to find Jim. Using the canoe, he paddles his way down the river. He falls asleep and when he wakes up it is clear. He sees the raft and heads to it. Once there he tries to fool Jim into thinking it was all a dream. Jim believes it at first but then notices the leaves and the broken oar and realizes that Huck was lying. He gets offended and heads into the wigwam. Huck feels bad and tries to get Jim to forgive him. A main point of this chapter is Huck (a white person) humbling himself to Jim (an African-American).
16. Jim gets very excited about getting to Cairo. Everytime he sees a light, he thinks it is Cairo and therefore freedom. Huck starts to think about how responsible he was for helping Jim get away. He feels remorse for it because Ms. Watson had not done any harm to him. When he gets the chance to tell someone that Jim is a runaway slave, he does the right thing and says it is only "Pap" on board and indirectly stated that he had smallpox. The men believe him, therefore not going near the boat to check if Huck is telling the truth. They even give him 40 dollars. Huck and Jim sail farther down the river and after a while, come to the conclusion that they had passed Cairo in the night of the fog. They decide to paddle upstream with the canoe, but after a night's rest, it is no longer where they had put it. They believe it is the snakeskin's fault. So they meant to go farther downstream and then buy a new canoe, but that night, a steamboat did not see their lantern, ran into their raft, and made Huck and Jim jump into the water and separate themselves from each other. The chapter ends with Huck being held up by dogs on the bank of the Mississippi.

Chapter 13- huck and jom check out an aboandoned steamboat during a storm, during this time, their raft floats away. They find a gang and with them a raft. When the gang leaves the raft ungarded huck and jim take the gang's raft. while floating down river they find their original raft and make off with it.
chapter 14- Huck and Jim have a long conversation about various subjects, including king solomon. Huck tells jim there must have been 1,000,000 wives andJim jokes around w/ huck saying how noisy the harum would have been.
Chapter 15- during this chapter jim and huck get sepperated in a fog, huck keeps making sounds as jim and huck go speratly down the river. when they finaly find eachother huck tries to trick Jim by saying that he never left and jim was making up the whole story, jim isnt going to fall for this and says friends dont telll lies about such a dangerous situation, Huck thinks long and hard about what jim said after.
chapter 16- again due to the fog, a key point in the journey to jim's freedom, Cairo is missed. Huck feels bad about helping jim run away. but when slave hunters want to search hucks boat, huck lies and said that pap is there and he has small pox, the men leave and give huck $40 for his trouble. ay the end of the chapter, their raft is hist by a steam boat and huck and jim get seperated.

Chapter 13
Huck and Jim steal Bill and Packard's skiff and head off to find someone to tell about the robbers. When Huck finds somebody he tells the person of how his family is stuck on the Walter Scott and asks for his help. The person then goes upstream to unknowingly catch the robbers but before he can get them the boat breaks apart and drifts downstream.
Chapter 14
Huck and Jim find many valuables among the ships wreckage like cigars, clothes, and books. They then hide in the woods. While in the woods Huck reads to Jim and tells him all about adventures. The most interesting is about Soloman who Jim doesn't think is very wise. Jim displays some use of human reason when he argues with Huck about French and English but the ignorance is still there.
Chapter 15
Huck and Jim get separated from each other one foggy night. When Huck finds Jim, Jim is sleeping. When Jim wakes Huck tells convinces him that he was only dreaming. Jim believes the dream is an omen and interprets it. When Jim sees all the debris from the trees that he hit he gets angry at Huck for lying to him. Huck apologizes 15 minutes later.
Chapter 16
Huck begins to feel guilty for helping Jim escape. Miss Watson never did anything bad to Huck. As they watch the shore for the town of Cairo they fear that they have missed it. When Jim goes up to a town to see how far Cairo is some men looking for escaped slaves and asks who is on his boat. Huck lies and says it is his father with smallpox. The men go on. At the end of the chapter Huck gets caught on the shore by the Grangerfords!

Chapter 13: Huck and Jim are stranded on the steamboat with the robbers, after their raft floats away. They steal the robbers raft and float down the river. Later, they speak to a steamboat captain whom they tell a lie to, to save the men on the wrecked steamboat. Then at the end of the chapter, they find their old raft and sink the one they borrowed.
Chapter 14: In Chapter 14, Jim and Huck talk about King Solomon and their different views on him as an individual.
Chapter 15: Huck is separated from Jim and takes a canoe to float down the river. Later, when the boys are re-united Huck decides to try and trick Jim into believing that Huck didn’t go away; that it was all a dream. Jim believes Huck at first, but later figures out what Huck was doing. Huck then begins to regret it.
Chapter 16: Huck is given forty dollars from some men who feel bad for his father with “smallpox”. Then they continue to travel up the river and later almost get hit by a steamboat. Huck gasps for his breath after making it to the surface, but then can’t find Jim. (Caroline R.)


1) in these four chapters, Jim and Huck continue their journey down the mississippi river. The two trick numerous folk into saving the attempted murderers and paying them. here jim and huck argue over whether or not King sollermun was wise, and Huck proves that theres no arguing with a SKITTLE. They get lost in a fog in a swampy portion of the Mississippi, and jim is tricked into thinking it never happened. The duo have yet to reach Cairo so they still arent free but you know they have to be getting close. <Kyle>

Chapter 13:
The robbers on the wrecked steamboat, Bill and Packard, went back inside the cabin to get the money from Jim Turner. Jim and Huck get on the robbers' boat and cut it loose, leaving the robbers stranded on the steamboat. Jim and Huck float downstream until they get to a village. Huck makes up a story about his family to get the boat watchman to go the the wreck of the Walter Scott. The boat watchman got his boat ready and sailed down the river to the wreck. Huck hid in the bushes and watched the steamboat go down teh river, then went to find Jim. Huck and Jim hid on an island and went to sleep.
Chapter 14:
Huck and Jim woke up and looked through the things the robbers had put on the boat. They had boots, blankets, clothes, books, a spy-glass, and three boxes of "seegars". They spent the afternoon lying around talking, and Huck read the books. Huck and Jim talk about kings , and Jim starts to talk about King Soloman again. Jim claims taht King Soloman was not wise because he had so many wives and had to put up with them and that he wanted to chop a child in half. Jim does not see the point of having half of a child, and said that the dispute was about a whole child, not half of a child. He thinks Soloman doesn't know what he's doing because he has millions of children and can spare a few. JIm starts talking about the dauphin. Jim finds out that people speak different languages in different countries and doesn't see the reason for it.
Chapter 15:
Huck and Jim are trying to get to Cario so they can sell the raft and take a steamboat up the river to Ohio, a free state. There was fog and a strong current, and the raft was swept downriver. Huck was in the canoe, and he paddled after the raft but could not find it. HUck whooped, and he heard one in reply and paddled towards it. he kept hearing the voice in different places. Huck figures out that he is going around an island, and that Jim is on the other side of the island. Huck goes to sleep in the canoe, and when he wakes up, he sees Jim and the raft. Huck confuses Jim by claiming that he had been on the raft the whole time, and that he did not remember any fog. He convinces Jim that it was all just a dream, and gets Jim to tell him the dream. Jim sees the dirt, leaves, and sticks on the raft and figures out that Huck tricked him. He goes inside the wigwam, and huck is left feeling very guilty. He thinks about what he has done and apologizes to Jim.
Chapter 16:
Huck and Jim want to know haw far they are from Cario, so Huck decides to go into town with one of his stories to find out. Huck starts to feel guilty for not turning Jim back in to his owner. Jim tells Huck that he is the only true friend he has ever had which makes Huck feel worse. Hick comes across some men and tells them that his father on the raft needs help. The men get suspicious and think that his "father" has smallpox. The men feel bad for Huck and give him $40 and tell him to go downriver. Jim and hcuk still don't know where Cario is and are going down the river, when a steamboat comes towards them and smashes the raft. Jim and Huck jump off, and when the steamboat passes, Huck cannot find Jim.

Chapter 13: It quite comical in my opinion. Huck and Jim get stuck on the steamboat with the band of robbers but end up escaping by taking the canoe the robber used to get to the boat. Huck felt bad for leaving them on the boat so he tried to send them help with out giving his idenity away. The steamboat eventually goes to save them and Jim and huck head for an island to stay for the night.
Ch 14: The two go throught the truck that they recieved from the robbers and talk about King Solomon and different languages. It shows the ignorance of Jim.

Ch 15: Huck looses Jim on the river because the thick fog. He whoops and hoolars trying to get back together but it doesnt work. Finally he gets up and the fog had lifted and he was able to find the raft again with Jim asleep in it. Since he found Jim asleep he decided he would play a trick on him and say that it was all a dream. Jim beleived him for a while and then realized what he was doing after he saw all the leaves in the raft and the broken oar, Jim was horribly upset.
Ch 16: As they are heading down the river one Jim begins to talk of his hope of freedom. This makes Huck concoiusly think that he his helping a slave escpae and form his chilhood raising it is hard for him to deal with that. So Huck wants to turn on Jim but as they head for land they are questioned by two men looking for slave. Huck changes his mind and makes up a story of howhis father has smallpox so the men want nothing to do with him. They keep head down the river for Cairio and then they realize they have probaly passes the town, The decide they will take the conoe and head back up stream but the next day they wake to find the canoe gone. they blame their bad luck on the rattlesnake. As the continue to head down river the raft is hit by a steambaot and Jim is nowhere to be found. (Matt)

Ch. 13- Huck and Jim take the robber's boat while they weren't paying attention. Eventually they find their own raft and Jim stays while Huck goes ahead. He meets a watch guard and makes up a story so the gaurd goes to the wreck. Huck and Jim hide on an island and fall asleep.
Ch. 14- After they wake up, they find all the valuable items in the canoe and raft. They talk about kings, especially King Solomon and the baby. They also talk about the different languages.
Ch. 15- Huck and Jim get separated because there is a thick fog. Huck is shouting for Jim but he couldnt find him. Afterwards, it clears up and Huck is able to find Jim. He plays a joke on Jim, saying the fog was all a dream. Jim believes him at first, but once he finds out the truth, he gets angry at Huck. Huck feels sorry and asks for Jims forgiveness.
Ch. 16- They continue to look for Cario so Huck goes into town to find out where it is. He starts to think that he is helping a slave run away. However, when he is questioned, he lies to save Jim. While they go down the river, the raft gets smashed by a steamboat and they both jump off. However, Huck loses Jim and cant find where he is. (Tony)

In chapters 13 through 16, Huck and Jim get on the robbers boat. Jim feels bad for stranding the robbers. Then they find their raft. Huck gets a steamboatman to go help the robbers that are stranded on the Sir Walter Scott. Later on, Huck and Jim have another run in with the robbers and they are lucky to escape with their lives. Huck's childish impulses continue to get the pair into trouble. Jim and Huck tell each other stories as they sit and look at the goods left on the boat by the robbers. Huck tells Jim stories about King Solomon and about the "dauphin". Huck and Jim eventually reach the Ohio River. One night, Huck gets separated from Jim, but they are eventually reunited. When they are, Huck pretends that it was all just a dream Jim had in order to trick Jim. Then Huck apologizes and it symbolizes that they are equals, Huck is not better than Jim. Then the pair meets a group of men that want to look on the raft for runaway slaves. Huck tells the men that his family is on board and that they are suffering from smallpox. The men don't want to get small box so they back away and give Huck forty dollars in gold because they feel bad for him. Later on, their canoe is stolen. Then, a steamboat hits the raft. Jim and Huck dive

off but they are again separated. Huck makes it to the shore where a pack of dogs corners him. Huck goes back and forth about whether or not turning Jim in is the "right" thing to do. (Lisa H)

Ch 13-Huck and Jim steal the robbers boat and then Huck shows remorse for having left the robbers stranded there. Then Huck and Jim end up finding their raft. Once they get to shore Huck finds a ferryman and tells him about the wrecked steamboat and he tells him that his family is on it. Huck feels proud of himself for what he has done.
Ch 14-Jim and Huck go through the robbers stolen items in the boat. They find many things from cigars to books to clothes. Huck reads some adventures and Jim tells Huck he doesn't like adventures cause they will lead him to death or capture. Huck talks about Kings and the only King Jim has heard of is king Soloman.
Ch 15-Once huck and Jim get near the Ohio river it gets foggy and Huck is seperated from Jim and the raft. After a while Huck finds Jim and the raft. When Jim wakes up Huck plays a joke on Jim as if nothing has happened. He sayed that Jim was dreaming about him being lost. Jim was reallly worried about Huck. THen Jim finds out that Huck was lying and was dissapointed in him. Huck apologizes but he doesn't mean it.
Ch 16-In this chapter Huck and Jim continue to look for Cairo. They go into a random town to find out where they are. Huck has to lie when questioned about a runaway slave to save Jim. Once back on the raft they are hit by a steamboat and split in two. Huck and Jim lose each other. (Ben)


Chapter 13: Jim and Huck get on the boat of the robbers and strand them there, but then Huck feels bad for leaving one of the robbers there, who might end up dying. Huck feels pitiful and when he gets on shore he tells a ferryman that HIS family was stuck on the boat and they were going to die if he didnt go and help them. Huckleberry Finn feels like a man with only a small twinge of guilt over his little white lie. Afterwards, Jim and Huck find there raft which they thought they lost. Chapter 14: They found many things when they were on the robbers boats. They collected books, cigars clothing and money. Huck talks about stories and Jim is scared he is going to eventually get captured due to bad luck or not being carefull. They talk about their mixed feelings on stories like King Soloman from the bible. Chapter 15: Fog takes over the scenes while they are on their raft. Huck gets seperated from Jim and then when he gets back he jokes on Jim saying "he was there the whole time". This scene shows Jim for how upset he gets when he things that Huck has died. Huck tries to make JIm feel and sound stupid by asking him if he had been drinking. Jim tells Huck about how friends should treat each other, and Huck apologizes, although he does not understand why because he still sees Jim as a slave. Chapter 16: Huck and Jim look for Cairo, alothough they must have past it in the fog. When Huck runs into people he lies because they are looking for Jim. Later on, down river, the raft breaks and Huck and Jim become seperated. Huck eventually makes it to land. (Meghan)

However Huck feel bad about leaving the robbers so he goes on land and tells a ferryman that his family was left on the boat, and could the he go help them. The ferryman decided to help Huck and goes after the steamboat. Also as Jim and Huck are going down the river they find there raft that they thought they lost.Chapter 14: Huck and Jim found many things off of the robbers boat, and Huck starts reading adventures to Jim, but Jim says he doesn't like adventures because they could lead to his death or being captured. They then argue over whether King Soloman is wise or not.Chapter 15: One night while traveling, Huck and Jim get separated because of the fog. They eventually find each other again and when Jim tells Huck what had happened, Huck says it was all a dream and accuses Jim of being drunk. However, Jim figures out that Huck was lying to him and then Huck feels bad about hurting Jim.
Chapter 16: Huck and Jim keep looking for Cairo, but they think they missed it due to the fog. They went to a town to ask people where they were, but when questioned about a runaway slave, Huck has to lie to save Jim. During the night a steamboat comes and runs the raft over, and Huck and Jim get separated, but Huck finally makes it to land. (Kristin)


Chapter 13- Huck and Jim see the robbers and take their raft because theirs drifted off so they leave the men stranded. After Huck feels bad so he finds a ferry man and lies to him to convince him to go save them.
chapter 14- Huck and Jim hide until nightfall and talk about their adventures and King solomon.
chaper 15- Jim and Huck get separated on the Mississippi and when Huck finally gets back to Jims boat he sits like nothing happened and when Jim wakes up he lies to him and tells hime that Jim must be dreaming because he never got separted. But Jim knows the truth and gets very upset with Huck.
chapter 16- Without realizing they have passed Cairo, Jim and Huck continue to search for it. Huck decides to go ashore and check but runs across two men and again lie them and saves Jim and gets some money. Later that night a steamboat hits the raft and Jim and Huck are separated.

Ch. 13- Jim and Huck lost their raft while on the Sir Walter Scott. Jim and Huck steal the robbers boat and go to get help because Huck feels guilty. However, it seems the attempt is in vain.
Ch. 14- Huck begins reading to Jim from some of the robber's books. They get into argument over King Soloman. Huck had been taught that King Soloman was wise and wouldn't listen to any other ideas. They also argue about French.
Ch. 15- While crossing the Ohio River, a dense fog causes Jim and Huck lose each other and miss their turn. Finally, Huck finds Jim. Huck tries to make Jim think he was dreaming. When Jim realizes that Huck was tricking him, Jim gets upset and trys to explain to Huck what a real friend is.
Ch. 16- On the way to Cairo, Huck thinks about turning Jim in. Huck paddles to shore to ask where they are. Before he reaches the shore, he gets stopped by two men who asked him if he was traveling with any runaway slaves. Huck lies and says he is traveling with his father who has smallpox. As soon as the men heard that Huck's father had smallpox, they make excuses, give him $20 each, and leave. But at the end of the chapter a steamboat runs over their raft and smashes it, more bad luck from the snake incident! (Janna)

Chapter 13- Jim and Huck lost their raft while they were on the Sir Walter Scott then they try to steal the robbers boat to go get help because Huck feels guilty but it doesnt really work out.
Chapter 14-Huck is reading to JIm about King SOloman and they get in a fight becasue Huck believed that King SOloman was wise and JIm thought he was foolish for having so many wives. Huck is unable to be open minded to other possibilities.
Chapter 15- HUck and Jim encounter a dense fog and get seperated from each other. JIm is very worried about Huck. WHen Huck finally finds JIm he tries to convince JIm that it was all a dream and Huck was never lost. THis upsets Jim a lot that Huck would try to play that kind of trick on him becasue JIm cares for Huck. Huck apoligizes to JIm and realizes that slaves ahve feelings too.
Chapter 16- Huck and JIm encounter 2 slave hunters and they ask Huck if there are any slaves on board. Huck lies to protect JIm and says that JIm is his father and suffering from smallpox. THey get away safely. *(Ellie Avery)

Chp. 13= Jim and Huck lose their raft whenever Huck was listening in on the robbers aboard the Sir Walter Scott. They then steal the thieves's boat, but then Huck tricks another steamboat captain into going back and saving the robbers.
Chp. 14= Huck is telling Jim about how wise King Solomon was but Jim does not see that and an argument ensues. They also look at the many things they found on the steamboat.
Chp. 15= Huck and Jim get separated in a thick fog but Huck eventually finds him, asleep. Huck then tricks Jim by saying he was there all along but Jim sees through this and tells Huck not to treat people who he cares about so badly. Huck also learns that slaves have feelings too.
Chp. 16= Huck and Jim accidentally pass Cairo in the fog and are later met by two men looking for some runaway slaves. Huck cleverly tricks them into thinking that Jim is white and has smallpox, which convinces the searchers to stay away. Further on down the river, Jim and Huck get once again separated when a steamboat crashes into their raft but Huck finds land. (Danny Sale)
